- Abstract
The article offers information on the current developments in the product liability law, which refers to the liability of manufactures and vendors for damage caused by that product to any other products. It discusses the theories of the liability based on several factors including the design-defect liability, duty of care, and failure to warn. It analyzes current provisions of the liability law of two products which include asbestos and pharmaceuticals. It discusses several court cases over product liability law including Beard v. Johnson & Johnson regarding risk-utility analysis in design-defect liability, Cook v. MillerCoors, LLC on the duty to warn consumer, and Kurns v. Railroad Friction Products Corp. for preempted design defect and failure-to-warn claims regarding asbestos injuries.
