LETHAL IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT.
- Authors
Rodríguez, Abel
- Abstract
This article provides a comprehensive examination of the violence and death inflicted on migrants of color in the U.S. immigration enforcement system. It discusses the racialized nature of these deaths, the use of lethal force by immigration agencies, and the neglect and abuse faced by migrants in detention. The article also explores the legal responses to these deaths and calls for a paradigm shift to end lethal enforcement and racial subordination. It highlights the need for further research, challenges the national security justifications for immigration enforcement, and discusses the impact of U.S. interventionism on migration. The text concludes by advocating for radical approaches, such as abolition, to address the issue and prevent further deaths.
