- Abstract
The article focuses on the efficacy of selective fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) in evaluating patient with a small thyroid nodule. It notes that FNAB has been recommended by the guidelines of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE). Relative to this, the biopsy criteria have been proven to detect 90% of cancers, thus avoiding unnecessary thyroid surgeries.
