- Abstract
The article discusses the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of adolescents. Research findings indicated increases in multiple measures of psychopathology including depressive symptoms, moderate-to-severe psychological impairment, anxiety, alcohol and cannabis use, anorexia nervosa, worsening obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and distress. Several positive coping mechanisms to increase mental well-being of adolescents include starting hobbies and physical activity.
