Even Mildly Premature Infants Have Increased Risk of RSV Infection.
- Abstract
The article reports on the increased risk of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection on mildly premature infants, according to the study by Kaiser Permanente. Exposure to supplemental oxygen or assisted ventilation during the neonatal stage among infants increases the risks of RSV infection. Also detected is the increased risk for RSV infection for children born under 38 weeks.
