- Abstract
A literary criticism of the play "Tamburlaine the Great" by Christopher Marlowe is presented. It discusses the importance of Marlowe's Persian identity in understanding the play and the intra-Islamic Schism conflict. The essay provides information on the classical Persian models of empire and schismatic stance within the Islamic world, including the dramatization of Islamic schism in early modern plays.
