The article discusses issues concerning the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) education in the U.S. Topics covered include the path and the challenges to achieving an NGSS classroom, features of an NGSS classroom that engage in three-dimensional learning and uses disciplinary core ideas, science and engineering practices and crosscutting concepts and the benefits of empowering students with skills and knowledge necessary to meet society's changing needs.
