The article presents speech from several notable lawyers of the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) including Gerald Stern, Brian K. Landsberg, and Chad Quaintance delivered at the symposium McGeorge Law Review Volume 44, held at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, Sacramento, California in the year 2013. They discussed role of the DOJ in enactment of civil rights laws, voting rights of African-Americans, and civil rights movement in Mississippi.
