Read, Rupert
- Abstract
The article discusses the book "Philosophical Investigations," by the philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein and its relationship to war (the book was begun in 1936 and finished in January 1945). The author argues that the book is the way that Wittgenstein works through his own anti-semitism and his view that it was an immature indulgence. Other topics include National Socialism, empathy, community, fascism, swastikas, and human beings as automatons.
