- Abstract
Today, people live in cities and larger cities differently from a century ago in the world. Cities can occupy a more important place in the world when they stand out not only in terms of economy or population size but also in terms of the quality of life they offer to people. This study aimed to use the LOPCOW method, which is a new weighting method, and the CRADIS method, which is a new ranking method, in the evaluation of the livable power center cities of Turkey and the G7 countries where global economic powers come together. The criteria were evaluated by the LOPCOW method according to three different decision matrices, and in the combined evaluation, the C7- Purchasing Power was ranked first among 14 criteria with a weight of 11.3%. It was seen that the LOPCOW method cope with high variations and found the difference between the most important and less important criteria to be more reasonable when comparing the Entropy, CRITIC, and MEREC methods. Tokyo, New York, London, Frankfurt, and Chicago were found in the top five and Istanbul was the last in the evaluation of 15 alternatives using the CRADIS method. Very high correlations were detected when comparing the CRADIS method with the EDAS, COPRAS, MOORA, CODAS, OCRA, ROV, ARAS, MARCOS, and TOPSIS methods. It is considered that the CRADIS method can be used instead of similar distance-based ranking methods.
