- Abstract
The article offers literary criticism of the novel "Confessions of a Shopaholic," by Sophie Kinsella. Particular focus is given to an examination of the novel within the Chick lit genre of fiction and ways in which it addresses the themes of culture and materialism within women. The article also comments on the heroine character Becky Bloomwood's experiences at the Victoria and Albert Museum and her addiction to shopping.
