- Abstract
The article discusses the need of limiting use of 404(b) of the U.S. Federal Rules of Evidence in order to introduce prior convictions in drug prosecutions. Topics discussed include impact of introducing prior convictions in drug prosecutions; contribution of lack of effective representation towards guilty pleas; and the Federal Rule of Evidence 609 that permits the introduction of prior convictions to impeach a witness's credibility.
