- Abstract
The article focuses on the geographic distribution extension of the endangered endemic knifefish species Apteronotus magdalenensis at Magdalena basin in northern Colombia. It notes that the populations of this fish species is still unknown though they suffered undoubtedly. It is considered as one of the most vulnerable species endemic to the basin. It points out that local fishermen call the species "el original perro" which means "original dog." Moreover, the fishermen regarded this species rare but not unknown.
