- Abstract
The aim of the work was to estimate an influence of particular soil onto cadmium, lead, zinc and copper content in tobacco (Nicotiana tabacci 'Virginia SCR IUN') leaves. Selected soils were located in Proszowice district, near Krakow, south of Poland. Samples of soil and plants were collected form five plots, from five farmlands of following villages: Bobin, Wolwanowice, Kościelec, Myslawczyce and Kuchary. Every plots has size from 0,6 to 1 ha. Within the plots five areas of approximately 25 square metres size were designated. Within the area five individual samples of soils and plants ware collected. The individual samples were homogenised and one averaged sample of plant and one of soil were taken. Heavy metal content were determiated by flame Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer Solaar M6. Examined tobacco leaves characterised by a low degree of accumulation of lead, zinc and copper and intense degree of cadmium accumulation. Positive correlations of cadmium and copper content in soil and leave were stated. In case of zinc the same correlation was negative. Both correlation were statistically significant. There was no correlation in case of lead. Analysis of variance revealed differences in the content of metals tested both in the leaves and soil.
