- Authors
Shek, K. L.; Dietz, H. P.
- Abstract
The authors discuss the diagnosis of female pelvic organ prolapse (FPOP), a common indication for gynecological surgery. They explore what is considered significant pelvic organ prolapse on clinical and translabial ultrasound examination, and outline measures to avoid false-negative findings on FPOP assessment. They also note the wide array of symptoms of FPOP, the pelvic organ prolapse assessment on clinical examination and the potential confounders of pelvic organ descent.
