- Abstract
The article explores the artistic exchange that occurred during the Mongol era in general and the Il-Khanid period in particular between the Christian West and the Muslim East. It analyzes the possible influence of paintings of the French manuscripts in mid-thirteenth-century on paintings in early-fourteenth-century Persian manuscripts. It is informed that documentation exists for the presence of medieval French volumes in Mongol realms.
