- Abstract
This article examines the connection between adverse healthcare experiences (AHEs) and the length of time it takes to diagnose vulvar inflammatory dermatoses in women. The study reveals that women with vulvar dermatoses experience longer delays in diagnosis compared to those with nonvulvar dermatoses. Factors such as uncertainty about which healthcare provider to consult and incorrect diagnoses contribute to these delays. The findings emphasize the importance of enhancing healthcare provider knowledge and support for women with vulvar dermatoses. The study, which analyzes data from over 300 women, suggests that addressing AHEs and improving access to care and interdisciplinary collaborations could lead to more timely diagnosis and treatment for vulvar disease.
