- Title
A Theoretical Approach to the Meanings of Mediation in Armed Conflicts.
- Authors
Delgado, Esperanza HernÂndez
- Abstract
This article represents a first input of an ongoing research. It contains a theoretical approach to the meanings of mediation, the starting point of study. However, as it is appropriate in peace research in particular and in research in general, this conceptual framework may be ratified or reinterpreted in the light of the findings of field work and conclusive research analyses. There are various questions in this research: What is the scope of mediation in armed conflicts? Do the participants' experiences perform practices of mediation or intermediation in the conflict referred? Which factors help and which hinder implementing the mediation in the conflict? Which lessons for peace building may be drawn from mediation experiences?
