- Abstract
The article examines the painting of artist Leonardo da Vinci titled "Virgin of the Rocks" (also known as "Madonna of the Rocks") as the first depiction of the condition called congenital vascular malformation syndrome. The painting featured the infant figures of the Christ Child and John the Baptist. In the painting, the Christ Child showed heavily hypertrophied lower limbs or bilateral leg gigantism, which depicts Klippel-Trénaunay-Weber syndrome.
