- Abstract
The new e-book I International Solidarity in Action: The Relationship Between the United Electrical Workers (UE) and Frente Autentico del Trabajo (FAT) i provides numerous ideas that will be of immense value to anyone thinking about this question, whether they be officers of local or international unions, staff, or rank-and-file members. Not only are private sector unions in right-to-work states barred from collecting fees from the non-members they represent (weakening the union's finances), but public sector unions are banned from collective bargaining entirely. The two unions, UE in the United States and FAT in Mexico, are both relatively small, independent unions, but exert an outsized influence on their country's labor movements.
