- Title
Camelina-Derived Jet Fuel and Diesel: Sustainable Advanced Biofuels.
- Authors

- Abstract
The article discusses the use of camelina to produce sustainable advanced biofuels for the airline industry. Camelina, also known as false flax, is a nonfood oilseed crop. A jet fuel rich in isoparaffin was produced from camelina. Both the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Japan Airlines have successfully flight-tested camelina-based hydrotreated renewable jet (HRJ) fuel. The HRJ fuel was found to help in reducing environmental emissions. Because of this development, camelina is now being considered for advanced biofuel production.
