- Abstract
The article reports a case of Pisa syndrome in a 68-year-old fell walker. After a 20-mile walk taking 12 hours, the patient noticed the progressive onset of an irresistible lean on the left forcing him to rest before carrying on to his destination. Over the next six months, the symptoms progressed and were provoked by shorter distances. The working diagnosis was exercise-induced pleurothotonus or Pisa syndrome, in a man with extrapyramidal disease of possible vascular origin.
