- Abstract
The article discusses the England and Wales Court of Appeal case HTC Corporation v Gemalto that deals with the issue of patent infringement. It reports that smartphone manufacturer HTC commenced a revocation action for European patents related to smart card reader and use of a high level programming language with a microcontroller, owned by digital security solutions provider Gemalto and Gemalto counterclaimed for infringement. The court ruled that the patents were not infringed by HTC.
