- Title
Has the Time Come to Envision a Global SGIM?
- Authors
Reynolds, P. Preston
- Abstract
The article discusses the establishment and activities of the SGIM Global Health and Human Rights Interest Group (GHHR IG), which has been meeting annually since 2006. The group focuses on cultivating expertise in global health and human rights among SGIM members, discussing strategies for building careers in these fields and networking with colleagues. The article also explores the potential for SGIM to incorporate indigenous approaches to health and wellness, as well as the need for skills training in trauma-informed care for undocumented immigrants and refugees. The authors argue that SGIM is well-positioned to move in new directions and become a global society of generalists.
