- Abstract
The article discusses several comparative models that are significant in the transition of religious to civil marriage systems in Israel. It explores the proposals of Israeli Chief Justice Aharon Barak that the country needs to include civil marriage and divorce into its exclusive religious model. It examines various legal systems that undergone conversion from religious to civil marriage. It also presents analysis and comparison of family, marriage, and divorce laws in Turkey, Israel, and England.
