- Abstract
Abstract  The main factors influencing the overhaul period of induction magnetic pumps are examined and analyzed. It is established on the basis of an analysis of the special features of the manufacturing and operation of the pumps that their operability is determined mainly by the reliability of the windings. The main damaging factors acting on the winding are noted. Expressions for calculating the failure rate of the channel and the turn and casing insulation are obtained. The following conclusions concerning the life expectancy are drawn on the basis of a comparison of the computed and operational performance indicators: the procedure developed is suitable for practical calculations of electromagnetic pumps and the life expectancy characteristics are comparable to and the predicted values are higher than for mechanical pumps.
