FIELDS, SARAH K.
- Abstract
The article offers information on the evolution of the "Indian School Journal" (ISJ) in Oklahoma. It was published by one of the Indian boarding schools sponsored by the U.S. federal government between 1906 to 1913. The periodical tackled stories about the school's sports teams and contextualized the broader history of the Indian education. It also featured different sports articles that examined the way in which they support and challenge the patterns of Indian school sports.
