- Title
LEGISLATIVE REFORM OF THE INDIAN TRUST FUND SYSTEM.
- Abstract
The article focuses on several reforms in the Indian Trust Fund System in the U.S. It states that the Congress has attempted to revise the individual Indian monetary system by conducting hearings, commissioned reports and legislation implementing structural changes within the Department of the Interior since the 1980s. In addition, it mentions that prior reformation efforts that culminated to the passage of the American Indian Trust Fund Management Reform Act have failed. The latest reform proposal introduced by Senator John McCain in 2003 attempted to streamline trust management duties and address the administrative problem of divided interests.
