- Abstract
The article discusses several studies demonstrating that the use of electronic health records (EHRs) system, an integral part of the health information technology (HIT), neither improved quality nor reduced the costs involved in the delivery of health care. He notes the support concerning EHRs from the federal government, the medical societies and the political parties while urging for an adoption of practical HIT. Also mentioned are the benefits of a mobile drug-reference tool ePocrates.
