Several poems by Charles Rafferty are presented. "The Problem with Maps." First Line: When I was growing up, there was no Southern Ocean, and the land comprising; Last Line: kings. Mount Saint Helens, I am reminded, was at one time taller. "Optimism." First Line: After my appendectomy, there was one less way for me to die, and though; Last Line: Even the executioner has a rationale for the order of our beheadings.
