- Abstract
The article discusses the impact of No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001 on the middle school science teachers in the U.S. NCLB was established on four principles which include stronger accountability for results, more freedom for states and communities, proven education methods, and more choices for parents. Its provision indicates that states should place a highly qualified teacher in every public school classroom which means that all teachers should have a bachelor's degree, certified by the department of education, and competent in his subject area.
