The article discusses the nature of connections within and beyond the field of geography education and the development of the course. The author explains that university academics in Great Britain tend to focus on challenges in the school environment rather than on connections which are necessary for their future. He stresses the need for geography teachers to strengthen their links with the discipline and for geographers to be aware of how geography influences communities and businesses.
