- Abstract
This article presents the results from a mixed approach research project investigating the impact of social representations on how cultural heritage is understood by Columbian teachers. Data was collected through a questionnaire with open and closed questions completed by 43 humanities teachers from urban and rural schools in the municipality of Santa Cruz de Lorica, in northern Colombia. Results indicate teachers have a traditional vision of cultural heritage that focuses primarily on material assets. The project offers a starting point for further research into teachers' the understanding of cultural heritage, and its teachability and sustainability.
