- Abstract
In the first place, this article stresses the historical importance of the canonical image of a building using the classical example of the perspective of "The Escorial", an etching by Pierre Perret for Juan de Herrera. Likewise, some of the drawings and photographs of the work of Frank Lloyd Wright, these last produced especially by Ezra Stoller, have become points of reference of the same. It goes on to discuss in particular the images of the Robie House and the various processes undergone by what could be considered a canonical image of it, though its specific authorship is unknown.
