Title
Inhalers and liquid medicines associated with increased risk of administration errors.
Abstract
The article presents a study on the effect of formulation and monitored dosage systems (MDS) on drug administration errors in care homes for older people in Great Britain. The study found that inhalers, liquid medications, and creams, eye drops or injections were associated with increased errors as compared to tablets or capsules. Reasons for the errors with inhalers and liquids are discussed.
