- Abstract
Teachers’ compassion fatigue is not only detrimental to the physical and mental health of individual teachers, but also affects students’ development and the quality development of teaching faculty. The problem of teachers’ compassion fatigue has become more pronounced due to teachers’ role to conduct empathy at work towards students, colleagues and parents. However, it is difficult to obtain positive emotional feedback as well as psychological resources to relieve stress. Therefore, foreign scholars have advocated that teachers should receive mindfulness therapy, trauma-informed education, and self-care strategies to alleviate compassion fatigue and its negative effects. It has the following enlightenment for the healthy and sustainable development of high-quality teaching faculty in our country. Primary and secondary schools should create supportive working conditions to reduce teachers’ emotional overload due to conduct empathy at work; education departments should provide relevant educational training to reduce teachers’ empathic stress; and teachers should focus on the development of psychological resources to alleviate emotional stress in a timely manner.
