This work aims to examine the life and work of Barbara Hammer in the period of the 1970s. She is an experimental filmmaker and a queer cinema pioneer, who had a strong feminist and lesbian discursive appeal, examining, through film analysis and historiographical information her first phase of production. In this research, we discuss Hammer's works that influenced new generations of LBT women who later took cameras, made their films exploring and openly celebrating their sexuality.
