- Abstract
The paper is focused on the beginnings of radio broadcasting in Eastern Slovakia in the 1920s and on the contribution of Anton Prídavok, a writer and journalist, to the development of radio broadcasting in this territory. Czechoslovakia was one of the first countries in the world with regular radio broadcasting. The country's first radio operator, Radiojournal, went on air in 1923 in the country's capital, Prague. Soon, radio broadcasting began to spread to other regions of the country – the first successful attempts in Slovakia were made near Košice, the second largest city after Bratislava, at the end of 1925.
