- Abstract
The article presents U.S. legal developments in marketing relative to the regulation of price competition. In reference to price discrimination the Eximco, Inc., John D. Spears, Joseph D. Michelli, and Rufus I. Davis v. The Trane Co., and Shepherd Sales and Services, Inc. case is cited. The case concerns the legal issues pertaining to price discrimination in relation to franchises. In reference to price control the Jack Walters & Sons Corp. v. Morton Buildings, Inc. case is cited. In this case a U.S. Court of Appeals ruled that a manufacturer has the right to advertise special prices to its dealers and make sure that such prices are available to consumers.
