1.0 REGULATION OF MONOPOLISTIC METHODS.
- Authors
Werner, Ray O.; Griffiths, L.C.
- Abstract
The article presents information on legal developments in marketing relative to the regulation of monopolistic methods. The article focuses on United States court cases pertaining to market control and collusive practices. The United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued an order restraining a company from interlocking directorships with competitors. The FTC has also found that a horizontal merger between the Pillsbury Co. and Fox Deluxe Foods did not violate antitrust laws. In the case of Purex Corp. v. Procter & Gamble Co. and Clorox Co., the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled that a merger between Clorox Co. and Proctor & Gamble Co. was not anticompetitive.
