- Abstract
The article offers film criticism of the motion picture "Biutiful," directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, starring Javier Bardem. Topics include the role of the character Uxbal (played by Bardem) in relation to the stories of other characters in the film, the notion of a multi-protagonist narrative structure in the film in relation to Iñárritu's previous films "Amores Perros," "21 Grams," and "Babel," and the depiction of immigration in Barcelona, Spain in the film.
