L'ÉCRITURE ET LE TRAVAIL PSYCHIQUE: LE TOMBEAU DE VIE.
- Authors
Sirois, François
- Abstract
Drifting from a peculiar impression, the author examines the status of writing as psychic remnant. Psychic work required in the unfolding of writing is discussed with regard to inspiration and composition. The narcissistic balance thus operated is presented as a feast, as social deed, to offset the impact of object loss. Such loss, when applied to the psychoanalytic field, is experienced both in the understanding of psychic processes and the change expected from the analytic endeavour. Hence an irreductible tension within psychoanalytic writing between a need for further understanding and the impossible task of presenting clinical material. To mask the bitterness of falling short, in both these senses, of the ideal, writing offers a gain in pleasure, a theoretical illusion equivalent to the artistic illusion of the novel.
