- Abstract
The article discusses research which sought to understand how K-12 administrators conceptualize democracy and the articulated purposes of education. It examined the complementary and contradictory goals of education and identified the factors that facilitate or hinder the democratic goals of education to provide equity of access and support for students. Findings revealed the difficulty for the respondents to define democracy.
