- Title
SACRIFICE AND SACRED HONOR: WHY THE CONSTITUTION IS A "SUICIDE PACT".
- Authors
Bayer, Peter Brandon
- Abstract
The article discusses the U.S. Constitution in 2012, focusing on the fundamental fairness principles of the Due Process Clause, the theory of deontology, and philosopher Immanuel Kant's approach towards honor and sacrifice. Social critic William Bennett is mentioned, along with Kant's dignity principle. The idea of a Constitution by necessity is addressed, along with an opposing view which states that the moral core of the U.S. Constitution is the due process of law.
