- Abstract
The additive manufacturing of optical components requires a spatially resolved measurement of the refractive index. One method for measuring the refractive index is based on the principle of total reflection at the interface between a prism and a polymer. By manipulating the local properties of an additively manufactured optic, the correct process parameters for a desired refractive index distribution can be set. A measurement setup is presented, based on the scanning focused refractive index microscope, which allows for spatial and temporal measurement of the refractive index. The measurement system can be used to investigate the curing behavior in the additive manufacturing of optical components.
