- Title
The Ethical Dilemma of a Special Education Lawyer: Who is the Client?
- Authors
Petrera, Jillian
- Abstract
The article discusses the special education representation which requires the lawyers to urge their clients interest especially if it involves the legal rights of the children. It says that legal communities reveal a need for child advocacy and that children must direct the scopes and objectives of legal representation not the lawyers which the American Bar Association agrees. Moreover, the Model Rules of Professional Conduct instruct lawyers to maintain their lawyer-client relationship especially with a diminished capacitated client.
