The study presents original documents proving the interest of the interwar Italian intelligentsia for the Romanian scientist Sextil Puşcariu and their desire to be decorated by the Italian state for its contribution to the development of bilateral cultural relations. But Italian authorities are opposed to this scenery citing the role that Sextil Puşcariu it had in the development of University of Cluj and that Hungarians do not feel represented in universities. Basically this decision follows the political orientation of Italy to Hungary.
