Kirk, Adam; McAndrews, James; Sastry, Parinitha; Weed, Phillip
- Abstract
The article examines the strategy of dealer banks to use internal sources of collateralized financing to fund a customer loan in the U.S. It explores how the firm is relying on internal sources of collateralized financing that is provided either by the dealer's own offset trading activity or by other customers' offsetting activities. Dealer banks's sources of funding include internalization, matched-book repurchase agreements, and derivatives trading collateral.
