- Authors
Hastings, G. B.; Eadie, D. R.; Scott, A. C.
- Abstract
The article presents information on the key findings generated by a total of eight separate pieces of research on the publicity about AIDS, all of which were conducted in Scotland. The research study consisted of two longitudinal and six qualitative surveys. The first qualitative research project showed general knowledge about AIDS to be patchy and vague. The program included press advertisements and television commercials to highlight the link between intravenous drug abuse and AIDS. Press campaigns targeting 16-24 year olds comprising a series of full-page advertisements were also organized for AIDS awareness.
