- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 57-year-old African woman who was referred with fever and multiple cutaneous nodules HIV infection. Histological examination of a skin biopsy reveals dermal and hypodermal abscess but negative result for microbial pathogens. The diagnosis shows mycobacterium avium infection with cutaneous abscesses and immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome triggered by the restoration of immune function after administering with antiretroviral treatment.
